Active Thermography

The new TESTD systems series from Telops offer nondestructive testing solutions for the evaluation of components or assemblies in order to detect defects without damaging the materials.

Combining its powerful – and astoundingly fast – IR cameras with flash or halogen lamps (other excitations sources are available) and a user-friendly post-processing software, Telops now offers complete non-contact, non-destructive testing systems to industrials seeking to ensure the quality and homogeneity of their materials.

Thanks to the high frame rates of Telops cameras, the TESTD systems can detect damage from corrosion, delamination, decay, and other irregularities even from very thin or from highly conductive or diffusive materials, which are notoriously hard to investigate.

    hyper cam methaneThe Hyper-Cam Methane is a unique, high performance, thermal hyperspectral imaging camera designed for real-time detection and identification of methane (CH4) gas leaks and emissions. This highly sensitive, methane detection system allows the detection of gas leaks as well as the mapping of methane gas over an extended area.

    The camera is easy to use and is ideal for gas leak detection and mapping of methane in either large or hard to reach areas. With its integrated calibration system and electronics Hyper-Cam Methane can be used in a standalone (and unmanned) configuration for over 24 hrs.

    The Hyper-Cam can be used as an advanced hyperspectral imaging solution for airborne infrared spectroscopy.

    The Airborne Platform is equipped with a stabilization system and an image motion compensation mirror, which allows you to use the Hyper-Cam from an airplane in order to map vast areas and obtain clear, high-quality spectral information.

    Some key specifications include:

    • High sensitivity: Excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) allows the detection of weak signals
    • User-selectable spectral resolution up to 1 cm-1

  • Motorized Polarizer:

Understand the Technology

Active thermography techniques measure the disturbance created by hidden defects in the returned heat waves. The heat flow is generated by an optical pulse or by periodic modulation. Once the infrared measurements are performed, testers use an algorithmic process to obtain the information necessary for the detection of defects.
