Characterization of Flames using Hyperspectral Imaging

The Telops Hyper-Cam was used to measure the high-resolution (0.25 cm-) emission spectrum of premixed laminar flames fueled by hydrogen and/or methane. A two-layer radiation model using the L-distribution method was used to calculate the numerical spectra. It was used as a direct model for an inverse method to determine temperature and CO2 and H2O molar fractions. A very good agreement between experimental and numerical spectra was obtained.
